Come out for a magical evening on August 1 to see the full moon and the second Super Moon of 2023 as you explore the 2.25-mile boardwalk that serves as the gateway to a gentle, pristine wilderness, with giant cypress trees over 500 years old. You may even catch sight of the Perseid meteor showers.
General admission begins at 6:30 p.m., with last admission at 8:15 p.m. The event concludes at 10 p.m. (August 1, 2023: moonrise at 8:39 p.m and sunset at 8:14 p.m.)
You're welcome to use a red flashlight for this event. Red cellophane will be available at no cost to cover flashlights and cameras that use a white light. Did you know? Red light is less disturbing for our nocturnal wildlife and better for maintaining your night vision.
The Nature Store will be open from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. for snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. All proceeds go back to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary! Members receive 10% off at the store.
Keep mosquitoes away from exposed skin by long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and socks. Mosquito repellent will be available for your use.

Attention Corkscrew Members! Come out for drinks and a bite to eat from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for our members only Summer Swamp Social! This free and exclusive social hour will take place prior to our Moonlight on the Boardwalk event. Enjoy an hour of relaxing jazz music and conversation prior to heading out on the boardwalk.
Parents/caregivers are welcome to take a break and register their children (ages 4 to 12) in our "Stay and Play" room for fun, nature-themed activities with our education staff. Just email Kristina at Kristina.Ohern@audubon.org to sign your child(ren) up. Note that all children must be picked up by 6:30 p.m. when our Moonlight on the Boardwalk Event begins.
